Professional radio equipment for every application

From entry level to sophisticated top variants, the two-way radio range is uncompromisingly built to deliver loud and crisp audio with the latest noise reduction technology.

Thanks to their professional-grade construction, the radios are designed to withstand the harshest environments, are IP68, MIL-STD certified, and also available in an Atex version.

ICOM IP110H WLAN man-down radio

The new WLAN radio with man-down ICOM IP110H it's a compact and lightweight transceiver that works over WiFi network (2.4/5GHz) and can immediately connect all workers equipped with a similar device with just the press of the PTT button (Push-To-Talk), under coverage of the corporate Wireless LAN network and therefore without costs or annual fees.

In case of emergency or accidentthe worker is therefore in constant contact with his or her company's team and can transmit alarms (manual or automatic), both for sending tele-help requests alerting help quickly, and for activating safety sessions allowing more direct contact with those in charge and ascertaining the worker's condition, through the man down and the function isolated workerthrough automatic motion/stationary detection.

The IP110H handheld terminal plugs into the ICOM's IP Advanced Radio System consisting of Remote Communicator IP100FS, Radio Controller IP1100CV and Gateway RoIP & SIP VE-PG4 and of course third-party Wireless LANs.

The Remote Communicator The ICOM IP100FS is PC-based and dispatcher software in a Windows environment that allows:

  • voice calls and messages of free and pre-coded text, both individual and group, with two-way paging modes
  • the acquisition of information on the location of each transceiver, based on the identification of the Wi-Fi Access Points to which the radio terminals used connect (indoor localization).

The ICOM IP1100CV is the Radio Controller required to operate the IP110H WLAN handheld terminals in a WiFi network, which acts as an automatic provisioning server for the Wireless LAN system, capable of managing the terminals. This networking device also allows over-the-air programming“ configuration of IP110H radios when connecting to the network.

The RoIP & SIP Gateway ICOM, In addition to its function as a Radio Controller as an alternative to the IP1100CV, it is designed to connect and enable interaction between licensed PMR radios (analogue and digital VHF/UHF) terrestrial, marine, aeronautical and satellite with VoIP telephony and IP-PBX systems, LTE networks (PoC), as well as intercom and video-intercom systems. Alarms originating from portable terminals can also be broadcast to sirens, public address systems (EVAC), telephone diallers and gateways with input/output management for sending voice messages, SMS notifications, and emails.

Unlicensed two-way radio equipment PMR446

The apparatus PMR446 (Personal Mobile Radio, 446 MHz) are licence-free portable radio devices operating in the UHF band (446-446.2MHz).

They are two-way radios intended for collective use in the private sector and should not be confused with PMR (Professional Mobile Radio or Private Mobile Radio) systems, so-called civilian radio systems that instead use private VHF or UHF frequencies issued by the MISE (Ministry of Economic Development) to law enforcement agencies, public bodies and companies.

The law stipulates that the PMR446 must have an integrated and immovable antenna, cannot communicate via radio links/repeaters of any kind, and deliver a maximum power of 500 mW.
The maximum connection distance at street level (H = 1.50 m) is approximately 5 km in the absence of obstacles.
Moving upwards and always in the absence of obstacles, optical coverage can increase considerably to distances of up to tens of kilometres with good signal quality.

The PMR446 are available in both analogue and digital variants, allowing the latter for confidential communication and ambient noise reduction to ensure clear communication even in noisy environments.
There are 16 channels for analogue and 32 channels for digital signals.

Licensed PMR two-way radios

PMR (Professional Mobile Radio or Private Mobile Radio) devices are portable radios which allow the performance of communication activities for private use; they do not fall under the general authorisation regime and therefore require a specific licence issued by the MISE (Ministry of Economic Development).

This is two-way radio equipment that has the technical characteristics and uses the frequency bands defined in the national frequency allocation plan. The specific band and frequency is allocated by the Ministry following the submission of a specific application. An annual fee is charged for the supervision and maintenance of the licence.

The radio equipment can deliver higher power than PMR446, and communicate via radio links/repeaters; they therefore allow a greater connection distance between operators and/or between a headquarters and operators in the field, and ensure that any communication is transmitted quickly and securely.
