Designed to use open communication standards, such as IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac for wireless transmissions and SIP/H.323 for VoIP telephony, Ascom i63 also supports 802.11i and 802.11w, ensuring a high level of security without compromising voice quality and network performance.
Different models are available with licensed functionality: from a robust handset with telephony only (Talker) to one that also supports professional messaging (Messenger), to an advanced model that includes personal alarm, man down and no movement functionality (Protector). All three models can be equipped with location functionality.

The new Ascom Myco 3 smartphone comes with many features such as Near-Field Communication (NFC), infrared (IR) and Wi-Fi localisation, an updated operating system and much more, making it easier to use Ascom's healthcare platform.
Being equipped with integrated NFC, the Ascom Myco 3 is able to share and update information with devices and appliances equipped with the same technology, such as phones, tablets and patient ID bracelets.

Ascom Wi Fi allows full integration between the normal speech (voice) function and personal and technological messaging and alarm functions. Integration with the IT world via Tcp/Ip protocols is also possible.
The use of the 802.11n standard brings advantages such as superior processing capacity and range, which increase the ability to integrate with other systems and create efficient applications.
Thanks to the automatic transfer functions of the communication between Access Points (hand-over), the user can move between the different cell coverage areas without experiencing the slightest degradation of the ongoing communication.
