IEO chooses Irbema and the Ascom Telligence intelligent nurse call system
Designing for Healthcare, the editorial reference for the sector, published in its latest May/June issue an article on the project of an intelligent nurse call system implemented by Irbema at theEuropean Institute of Oncology of Milan.
The European Institute of Oncology (IEO) is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, internationally recognised for the quality of its clinical services and its innovative capacity. The facility is located in Milan, opened in 1994offers its patients more than 400 beds, 21 operating theatres e 15 radiotherapy equipment latest generation, as well as a Proton Centre facility, due to open in December 2023. Every year the IEO performs about 15.000 shelters, 50.000 outpatient visits and 9.000 surgery, it is also a centre of excellence for training and research.
The goals to be pursued, efficiency and reliability
The large and constant influx of people at the facility has made it necessary over the years to have an efficient and reliable system capable of responding to the needs of the facility's staff and guests, in terms of communication and service. The aim is to be close to the patient in any condition.
To meet these needs, the choice was to turn to Irbema and the nurse call system Ascom Telligenceas stated by the top management:
Irbemafor over 30 years specialising in solutions and services in the ICT market, was able to respond to customer needs thanks to the Ascom nurse call. The nurse call consists of: wall modules, bedside call with push button, pull-outs placed in the bathrooms and an advanced voice service to redirect the emergency call to the cordless terminals provided by the nursing staff.
