We are proud to announce that the Finnish brand TWIG, distributed exclusively in Italy by Irbema, has finally launched the first man-down devices on the market WiFi data and VoIP capable of operating on the GSM network at the same time.
Man-down WiFi: a new frontier for the protection of isolated workers
The innovation concerns all equipment in the TWIG range: Neo, One, One Ex, Easy and SOS Card. In this way, whatever the context of use, workers can be assured that in case of emergency the alarm is correctly sent to the rescuers.
How do they work?
Devices with the option SRD3 are programmed to give priority to communications via the GSM network, but switch immediately to the WiFi network in the event of a signal failure.
Of course, if desired, you can configure the device so that it only operates on one of the two networks.
WiFi can also be used for locating alarms in indoor environments. Using a TWIG device, Wi-Fi beacons (access points) and the IrTrack platform, it is possible to know exactly where the user is in the event of an alarm, displaying the location in real time on both PCs and smartphones.
Not only WiFi: the other advantages of TWIG systems
The mission of TWIG has always been to provide companies and their workers with the best man-down devices on the market. The innovations introduced by the Finnish manufacturer represent yet another evolution for a range of solutions that has become in the course of almost two decades a guarantee of quality and reliability for all isolated workers.

The new models also provide the end user with their usual benefits:
- Automatic detection ManDown, non-movement, fall and impact
- No false alarms
- Easy to wear, light, simple and practical to use
- No maintenance and automatic status check
- Resistant to even the most extreme temperatures (cold stores)
- Waterproof and dustproof (IP67 certified)
