Marketing and training: an end-of-training review at Irbema
Internship

At the end of an eight-month extracurricular traineeship within the marketing team of Irbema, Giulia Scaccabarozzi wanted to share some reflections on the pathway followed. The interview offers an overview of the activities followed, the skills developed and the training value of this experience in a dynamic and innovation-oriented business context.

Giulia, what were your expectations at the beginning of the placement and how did the experience meet these expectations?

From the beginning, I hoped to get in touch with the real dynamics of corporate marketing, going beyond the theoretical aspect learnt during my studies. The aim was to gain a concrete understanding of how communication strategies, content management and promotional activities are developed. The internship at Irbema fully lived up to these expectations, allowing me to work alongside a competent, helpful and active team, which involved me in concrete projects right from the start, leaving me a lot of room for autonomy.

Which activities did you mainly deal with and what contribution could you make?

I actively collaborated in the management of the company LinkedIn page and I created content on the other channels used by Irbema, such as the website and newsletter. I supported the sales area by creating promotional materials and producing company presentations, brochures and product datasheets. I would say that my contribution was mainly operational and, over time, I also had the opportunity to propose various ideas, which were always enthusiastically received.

What skills did you acquire and strengthen during this experience?

Working alongside professional and experienced people allowed me to learn a lot. From a technical point of view, I became familiar with digital communication and marketing tools, such as CRM and graphical tools. In addition, I also learnt how to structure content geared towards different targets. On a personal and relational level, I strengthened my ability to work in a team and my adaptability to changing contexts, all of which are fundamental aspects for those working in marketing.

Were there any challenging or significant moments?

It was very interesting to actively participate in the creation of a LinkedIn campaign for the introduction of a product in luxury hotels. I was able to follow the project from the early brainstorming stages to the publication of the content, collaborating with different company departments. It was an inspiring and educational experience that gave me the opportunity to see how marketing is not only creativity, but also planning, consistency and analysis. Feeling an integral part of the process was very motivating.

How will this experience influence your future path?

Having had the opportunity to work in a welcoming and close-knit team gave me an experience I will hardly forget. This internship confirmed my interest in marketing and corporate communication, helping me to understand in which direction I want to orient my career. Having worked at Irbema, where innovation and teamwork are central, has given me a greater awareness of my skills and what I am looking for in a professional context. I will take with me a concrete set of skills, a portfolio of projects and a more mature view of the world of work, elements that will be very useful in future experiences. I really thank everyone for following me with patience and attention, allowing me to grow day after day!

Giulia's internship experience within Irbema's marketing team proved to be an important opportunity for both professional and personal growth. Through active involvement in concrete projects, the trainee was able to confront the daily challenges of the sector, developing operational and transversal skills that are fundamental for her future path. An example of how dialogue between the academic world and business realities can generate mutual value and train professionals ready to face the labour market with awareness and preparation. Good luck with everything Giulia!
