Fire evacuation sound system

EVAC installations

EVAC systems (emergency evacuation systems) broadcast emergency messages, and eventual evacuation, in environments such as hospitals, industries, shopping centres, schools, etc. Such EVAC systems can also be installed in environments with very high background noise and potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX).

L'sound evacuation system or EVAC system is a advanced system which complies with EN 54-16 and EN 54-24, has the capacity to self-diagnosis continuous of its components and total redundancy: even the failure of one or more parts does not affect the dissemination of the emergency message.

In environments with a large public presence, a sound evacuation system is indispensable, to ensure a sound and alarm system capable of handling emergencies by means of a guided evacuation. The system can also be used not only to broadcast alarm messages, but also other sound communications in ordinary conditions, such as music or announcements. It goes without saying that in the event of an alarm, the highest priority is given to emergency messages.

In principle, the decision to install a Evac plant of sound for evacuation is the responsibility of the owner of the structure or the employer on the basis of the risk assessment and the regulations in force. The risk assessment is carried out by the Fire Brigade, which, after an on-site analysis, issues the CPI (Fire Prevention Certificate) on the basis of the inspection carried out.
However, there are some fire prevention and/or occupational safety regulations that explicitly require their installation for certain activities.

In particular, facilities that must equip themselves with sound evacuation system are:

  • Commercial activities exceeding 400 square metres (DM 27/07/2010)
  • Offices with more than 100 persons (DM 22/02/2006)
  • Places of public entertainment (DM 19/8/96)
  • Hotel establishments with more than 25 beds (DM 9/4/94)
  • Schools with more than 500 persons (DM 26/8/92)
  • Health facilities and hospitals (DM 18/9/02)
  • Sports facilities with more than 100 spectators (DM 18/3/96)
  • Buildings of historical and artistic interest such as museums, galleries, libraries, etc. (Ministerial Decree 20/5/92 no. 569 and Presidential Decree 30/6/95 no. 418)
  • Metro stations (DM 11/1/88)

There are several types of compact sound evacuation systems on the market: with built-in microphones, with internal power supply, with double redundancy, with indoor or outdoor amplifiers, with loudspeakers certified to operate in ATEX environments...

Why choose a 4EVAC by Bosch sound evacuation system?

sw6 system extension evac

1. Expanding audio zones

Zones expandable via SW6 module. Sound evacuation controllers of other brands stop at a maximum of 6 audio zones. In the case of 4EVAC by Bosch, the number of zones can be expanded up to 36 audio zones.

2. Length-free connections between consoles

The technology of 4EVAC by Bosch, in addition to the normal connection possibilities between control panels, allows a connection of up to 2km with optical fibre (as opposed to the classic BUS used by other brands' systems, which reaches a maximum of 250/300m).

3. Loop connections

Thanks to the longer cable lengths, several 4EVAC by Bosch control panels can be looped together, even in large areas such as apartment blocks, public areas, shopping centres, multiplexes,... Thanks to the looped connection, redundancy of the connection between them is guaranteed.

4. Guaranteed self-diagnostics

The front control panel of the 4Evac by Bosch systems returns alarm and fault signals that may also be present in the loudspeaker lines in real time, thus providing all the system self-diagnostics required by the EN54 family of standards.

5. The only EVACs with integrated microphone

The 4EVAC by Bosch sound evacuation control panel is the only one to be equipped with a certified and legally required call and general alarm microphone (4E-FMP for fire brigade use) already integrated in the machine and included in the price. It is also possible to connect other microphones in the network, to increase the ability to communicate alarm and evacuation procedures from several areas.

6. Quick and easy assembly

To mount the machine, it is simply necessary to attach a metal bracket to the wall to which the 4EVAC by Bosch control unit is attached.
The system arrives ready to use, can be assembled in half an hour and does not need to purchase any additional accessories, which are mandatory to comply with current standards. The machine is also plug and play.

LOCAL NET

SYSTEM - Local Net (L-Net) functions as a daisy-chain bus between the main system unit and remote network devices, such as paging consoles or additional GPIO interface.

  • maximum 8 devices per port
  • maximum 16 devices per main unit

L-Net is used to move interfaces and control panels from the central location in the system to remote control points. The local network is fully monitored and can be configured in a redundant ring topology, providing two secure paths to the remote device. Maximum point-to-point distance over CAT5 cable is 250 metres, with the possibility of extension up to 2000 metres over multimode optical fibre.

GLOBAL NET

global-net

Global Net (G-Net) is a redundant network ring in which multiple system controllers can be connected into one fully transparent system. It is used to reliably synchronise data between all connected locations. The maximum point-to-point distance on CAT5 cable is 250 metres, with the possibility of extension up to 2000 metres on multimode optical fibre.
The total capacity of the network is 254 devices, including the main system controllers and peripherals, such as microphone stations.
