Videoconferencing system for a large classroom | UniMi (Milan)

Location:

In the spring of 2018, the Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences (DiSFeB) of the University of Milan requested Irbema to equip its lecture rooms with a audio and video system to ensure sharp, high-definition projections of faculty presentations.

Problem:

The main challenge was the classroom itself. In fact thehigh room brightnessdue to large windows on all sides and no blackout, made it difficult to guarantee a sharp image with true-to-life colours in computer-generated images.

Solution:

Irbema solved the room's brightness problem by using Epson's 3LCD technology (colour light output equal to white with WUXGA resolution for vivid and bright colours at 7,000 lumens) using a professional projector capable of reproducing 3840×2160 pixel video (4K resolution).
To mount the two projectors on the ceiling Epson large size and heavy weight, two brackets were used Vogel's which allow the projector to be easily adjusted.
Completing the project are two Kanex Pro switch to connect the projectors to the computer and two ultra-thin retractable screens.

The result left the lecturers of the university very satisfied, ensuring excellent playback of presentations, high quality video and images despite the high brightness of the room.
