A new model of autonomy for fragile individuals
Saturday 1 February saw the inauguration of the 'Casa dei Saggi' (House of the Wise) in Bovisio Masciago, an important reality in the social landscape of the area. The building in Via Cantù, formerly the headquarters of the Distretto Socio-Sanitario and the Centro Diurno Integrato (CDI), has now been enriched with four flats for the elderly, made possible thanks to funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) Mission 5 Component 2 - Line 1.1.2 'Autonomy of the non-self-sufficient elderly'. This project represents a significant advance in the provision of housing and care for the most frail.
The project and objectives
The initiative, promoted thanks to the funding "Next Generation EU"It aims at guaranteeing an innovative housing model for the non-self-sufficient elderly, aimed at preventing the risk of institutionalisation, and is based on two main objectives: to guarantee adequate and well-equipped housing contexts and to implement an integrated social and health care system to support home care, making use of new technologies.
The need for an effective monitoring system
To ensure the safety of the guests and the continuous monitoring of their state of health, Codebri identified the need for an advanced surveillance system. Real-time monitoring of medical data and constant supervision via a web-based platform, managed by an operations centre with qualified personnel, were considered essential elements for the success of the project.
The technological solution adopted
After careful evaluation, Codebri approached Irbema to integrate the SiDLY class IIa certified medical wristband into the facility. This device allows real-time detection of falls, both inside and outside the home, as well as accidents or illnesses. The system enables an immediate response from the operators of the Operations Centre, thus improving the safety and quality of life of the guests of the 'Casa dei Saggi'.

With the Man-down Operations Centre, of Tiempo Nord Srlthis information is provided to the caregiver in real time, thus ensuring targeted and timely intervention in case of need. This service is essential to ensure a high level of care for the persons concerned, checking their emotional and physical well-being on an ongoing basis.
The 'House of the Wise' has thus come to fruition thanks to the synergy of these three realities, becoming a fully functioning accommodation facility and a model investment for European funds.
