Problem:
A well-known ski resort management company based in Bolzano has been supplying all ski resorts in the Italian Alps with artificial snow since the 1990s.
The company's request was to equip its employees, who maintain and overhaul snow machines along the slopes of ski resorts, with man-down devices robust, with long battery life and equipped with a GPS tracking.
Solution:
After comparing all devices on the market, the company's choice fell on man-down devices Twig Embodyin fact, these are the only ones that pack IP67 certification and a GNSS multi-constellation localisation 48 channels.
La IP67 certificationi.e. water and dust resistance, is a key element for those working on ski slopes and dealing with an unpredictable weather environment.
Secondly, a precise location is a key factor for those working in the mountains and can often make the difference between life and death. The devices Twig are in fact equipped with a 48-channel GNSS multi-constellation localisation system (GPS, Glonass, Galileo and BeiDou) that allows precise geolocalisation with a maximum error of two metres.
In the mountains we are not dealing with a flat and constant terrain (there are climbs, descents, crevasses, trails, forests, ...) and the accuracy of the devices Twig Embody makes it possible to pinpoint the origin of the signal precisely, so that targeted action can be taken without wasting additional time searching for the position.
In addition, within the alarm message transmitted by the Twig Embody device is both an google maps to be accessed via smartphone, as well as geographical coordinates with latitude and longitude that can be easily entered into the helicopters' rescue navigation systems, making rescue action even easier and more immediate.
